"The fertile West Bank folk
'n' blues scene gets a hip kick in the pants from a delightful new CD
with hideous cover art -- "Forget Your Truffles and Dance!"
by the LiquorPigs. At least two generations of players convene on this
15-track lowdown gem, which delivers lots of pre-WWII blues and hokum,
some irreverent gospel, healthy shots of goofball rockabilly and country,
plus a few David Babb originals that could be drunken outtakes from
Dylan's "Desire" album."

"The groups debut album, Forget Your
Truffles and Dance, is as much a sunny day playing hooky at the swimming
hole as it is a smoky, beer-soaked rent party. The guys play everything
on this record from old country to straight-up rock and roll, ranging
from Rev. Gary Davis to tunes by the Faces. The band also does a Replacements
song without the least bit of irony and raids the song list of elder statesman
Spider John Koerner, who incidentally sings on the record. The Liquor
Pigs have also been backing Koerner up at some of his own shows."
